Overview

The reservation timeline provides a chronological view of everything that has happened with a booking. From creation to check-out, every action, message, and change is recorded for complete transparency and accountability.

Accessing the Timeline

  1. Open the Reservation

    Click on any reservation to view details

  2. Click Timeline Tab

    Switch to the Timeline view

  3. View History

    Events displayed in reverse chronological order

Event Types

Understanding Timeline Entries

Each timeline entry includes:

  • Timestamp - Exact date and time of the event
  • Event Type - Icon and label indicating what happened
  • User - Who performed the action (staff member or system)
  • Details - Specific information about the event
  • Before/After - For changes, shows old and new values

Filtering the Timeline

Filter events by type to focus on specific activities:

  • All Events - Show everything
  • Communications - Messages only
  • Financial - Payments and refunds
  • Changes - Modifications to reservation
  • Tasks - Task-related events
  • System - Automated events and syncs

Use Cases

Resolving Disputes

Timeline provides evidence for any disagreements:

  • When was the reservation confirmed?
  • What was communicated to the guest?
  • When were payments processed?
  • Who made which changes?

Staff Accountability

Track team member actions:

  • Who modified the reservation?
  • Who sent communications?
  • Who processed the refund?

Guest Communication History

Review all messages exchanged:

  • Complete conversation thread
  • Across all channels (email, SMS, OTA)
  • Including automated messages

Exporting History

Export the timeline for external use:

  • PDF - Printable document with full history
  • Include - Messages, changes, payments
  • Date Range - Filter export by time period
